The #pharmacy sector within the retail business landscape is multifaceted and fast-paced. Of the business areas I support at Publix Super Markets, it's rewarding to have a hand in introducing essential programs and services that benefit our customers' healthcare needs.I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the Publix Pharmacy leadership team to craft a strategic communications plan announcing our new virtual care service, powered by WellSync. In the ever-evolving realm of medicine and healthcare, technology plays a pivotal role in transforming the provider-patient relationship. Virtual care has emerged as a convenient, accessible and cost-effective alternative to traditional healthcare services. This endeavor marks an exciting phase as #Publix leads with innovation in the healthcare landscape.

“Due to poor planning.”As a strategic communicator, I live by the saying “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” Trusting the leadership of the company I work for is extremely important to me. It’s easier to sleep at night when I know my family’s livelihood is in good hands. It’s truly a pleasure getting to support and collaborate daily with the brilliant executives leading Publix Super Markets. The company has never had a layoff in its nearly 94-year history and they are helping to ensure we never do. If you’re looking for a #GreatPlaceToWork, Publix is a $54 billion dollar Fortune 100 company. With more than 255,000 associates, it’s also the largest employee-owned company in the U.S. #WhereWorkingIsAPleasure #PublixProud 💚 🛒

I love Pottery Barn but unsubscribed because an email every day (or twice in one day) is too often. Is this the norm in outbound marketing now? I would never allow our associates’ inboxes to be spammed with company emails, I can’t see how this can be an effective tactic for customers?

In the beginning of social media, like so many, I jumped on every platform; it was so much fun learning the new technologies which were overlapping my personal and professional life. But I didn’t suggest that same approach for the companies or clients I worked for. That opinion felt a little controversial at the time. I remember sharing it with some #PR and #marketing friends on occasion and some disagreed, sharing their approach, what I call “social spray.” Another unpopular opinion: I think large companies should keep their social platforms at 3, 4 max. I just don’t think it’s necessary or a right fit to be on every platform and there’s usually only a few that are.I think Twitter/X is great for some industries, like Government Affairs and officials, because that seems to be the best way to get information quickly out to the masses and media. But I don’t think it’s ever been a fit for industries like retail, because I don’t think companies generate most of their sales from Twitter. As we all know, go where your customers are.Any of my #PR friends feel the same, or maybe there’s a view I haven’t thought of? #corpcomm #communications #corporatecommunications
