OverviewArdent Health Services (AHS) is a national health care services company headquartered in Nashville, TN. Through its subsidiaries, Ardent owns and operates nearly 200 sites of care. Our subsidiaries own and operate hospitals and multispecialty physician practices in six states. Ardent includes 30 hospitals, 4,840 patient beds, 23,000 employees, and 1,700 employed physicians. Within the industry, we are noted for recognizing that every hospital is as unique as the community it serves. This in-depth understanding of how health care works at the local level is one of our great strengths.

Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the month-end close associated with an assigned workstream. The assigned workstream can be one of the following, subject to change based on need: capital, cash, contract services, SWBCL, non-income tax, rent/leases/R&M, all other and corporate/shared services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end close process for assigned workstream.
  • Prepare, review and analyze various journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity.
  • Assist Manager, Accounting or Director, Accounting with monthly account analytics for leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; BS Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Minimum five years of accounting experience required
  • Hands-on experience with ERP
  • Experience in Microsoft tools required: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Healthcare and corporate office experience preferred
  • Lawson and ImageNow system experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in general ledger.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to lead different projects at one time.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the Company.
  • Ability to make decisions and communicate those decisions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
